Blakely Cactus Dinnerware

Blakely came out with 2 types of dinnerware.  Pottery or Stoneware and Fine China. 

Shown here is the Pottery or Stoneware set from Universal Pottery.

The Pottery set is different from the Fine China in several ways.

• It is a heavier dish and not the bright white as the china.
• It does not have the silver rim that the China has.
• It is not identified as Blakely in the backstamp as the Fine China is.
• The serving pieces will come in all 8 cacti patterns.

Blakely Pottery Items

If you decide to collect the pottery set of dinnerware, you will need to look for the following pieces in all 8 cacti designs.

• Dinner Plate
• Bread Plate
• Soup/Salad Bowl tab handled
• Berry/Dessert Bowl
• Cup and Saucer
• Platter tab handled
• Serving Bowl
• Cream and Sugar Set
• Chili Bowl

The bowls and serving pieces are usually harder to find.  With the hardest being the chili bowl.

The chili bowl is found on occasion in the Saguaro pattern.  I have seen 1 mis-printed chili bowl in the Prickly Pear in all of my years collecting and that was just this past year 2009.
